About Biosafety and the COVID-19 Vaccines
Biosafety and the COVID-19 Vaccines
Biosafety and the COVID-19 Vaccines is intended to provide an overview of the clinical trial development and biosafety considerations of the currently approved COVID-19 vaccines. This webinar will cover an introduction to the clinical trial process and how this process was condensed in the development of the vaccines against SARS-CoV-2, the causative agent for COVID-19. This webinar will also cover the basic biology of the COVID-19 vaccines that have received Emergency Use Authorization from the Food and Drug Administration, the applicability of the NIH Guidelines to these vaccines, and the precautions that pharmacy and clinical staff should consider when handling these vaccines in the clinical setting.
The webinar will be presented by Chris Jenkins, PhD, and David W. Emery, PhD, Clinical Biosafety Services, Wildwood, MO.
