Past event - BBP Workshop on Biocides

On April 22, BBP organised a workshop on Biocides together with EBSA Biocides task force. This event brought us a lot of interesting insights and lively discussions on topics BBP will further tackle. Our president, Elisabeth, set the example of how to clean up a biological spill appropriately.

Biosecurity Scenario: Designing toxic proteins with AI Biodesign tool

Artificial intelligence (AI) is nowadays all around us. Think of ChatGPT, for example, but there are also various biodesign tools such as ProteinBERT or DeepCRISPR. With these tools you can design proteins with certain therapeutic properties much faster and in a more targeted manner. The possibilities are enormous, and AI offers many opportunities, but there are also risks. For more info on this topic, check the website of Bureau Biosecurity.
