ISTR Autumn Symposia - Managing laboratory and research waste
Last year we asked what top three issues should be addressed at future events and 'waste' was a top topic. Therefore join us as we explore the many and various facets of research waste management.
From handling, treating and disposing of various laboratory wastes to managing the risks associated with recycling laboratory consumables. From learning how to reduce energy waste through careful product selection to learning about a wide range of environmental sustainability initiatives. From rationalising the amount of fumigating we do in biological containment laboratories to a regulatory update from the Health and Safety Executive.
There will be exhibitions by companies engaged in seeking to reduce waste and reuse consumables. There will be something engaging for all delegates which will enable them to take away and apply new principles in their own work environment.
Three delegates responded to the call to share their own waste management initiatives and we look forward to hearing their experiences.
This year the ISTR Annual General Meeting will be held on Wednesday afternoon after the main symposia, this will be followed by a drinks reception. All members are encouraged to attend and share in the discussion.
