BSP Curriculum

EBSA is proposing a Core Curriculum for all BSPs, then as appropriate, electives as specialization in certain areas.

The Core Curriculum is organized into three sections:

• Fundamentals
• Principles of biosafety and biosecurity
• Biosafety and biosecurity laws, regulations, standards and guidelines

The electives include:

• Working with animals
• Working with plants
• Working with insects
• TSE
• Containment level 3 activities
• Containment level 4 activities
• Large scale production
• Biosafety vs GMP
• Gene therapy
• Clinical laboratory
